Lead a High-Impact Pharmacy Operation as a Pharmacist in Charge – Mobile, AL

A respected compounding pharmacy in the Mobile, Alabama area is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee daily operations, manage a growing team and ensure excellence in non-sterile compounding.

Position Highlights

Salary: $180,000 annually
Location: Mobile, AL (onsite role)
Environment: High-volume 503A non-sterile & hazardous compounding pharmacy

Team: Expanding group of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff
Work Setting: Monday–Friday, full-time leadership position

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring alignment with production and organizational goals.
Direct and support pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to maintain efficient workflow.
Manage all aspects of non-sterile and hazardous compounding, including technology, documentation, engineering controls, and facility standards.
Maintain full compliance with USP <795> and USP <800> , state pharmacy regulations, and accrediting body standards.
Develop and enforce quality assurance programs, environmental monitoring, and equipment maintenance schedules.
Drive innovation in compounding processes, new product formulation, and operational improvements.
Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews to uphold licensure and compliance.
Lead training, development, and performance management for pharmacy team members.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited program.
Active Alabama pharmacist license in good standing and willingness to obtained additional licenses as needed.
Demonstrated experience in non-sterile and hazardous compounding.
Strong understanding of USP <795> , USP <800> , and relevant regulatory guidelines.
Experience managing operations in a high-volume compounding environment (5,000+ prescriptions/month preferred).
Proven leadership ability and strong organizational skills.
Commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
