Job Summary of Patient Care Optometrist
Join Walmart's Optical Services team to support vision care by assisting customers with eyewear solutions and prescription fulfillment. You will be responsible for providing excellent service, guiding customers through product selections, and maintaining compliance with healthcare protocols, while ensuring the optical department is efficient, clean, and well-stocked.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Patient Care Optometrist:
- Provide customers with assistance in choosing frames, lenses, and accessories based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs.
- Support Optometrists in diagnosing and managing visual disorders.
- Keep the optical area organized and stocked with current inventory, ensuring merchandise is displayed correctly.
- Unload, receive, and process new inventory efficiently while monitoring product levels.
- Offer services such as frame adjustments and minor repairs.
- Ensure accuracy in prescription orders and provide clear instructions for eyewear use and care.
- Adhere to Walmart and HIPAA policies to ensure patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a clean and safe optical department and report any safety or compliance concerns.
Qualifications and Experience of Patient Care Optometrist:
- Minimum: Current enrollment in an accredited Optometry or related healthcare program.
- Preferred: Background in customer service, retail, or optical care with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
