Job Summary of Managing Pharmacist

Fulfill a vital role in patient care by dispensing medications accurately, providing immunizations, and supervising pharmacy operations. Lead the pharmacy team in emphasizing patient-centered services, business development, and community involvement, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Managing Pharmacist:

  • Ensure that prescriptions are accurately filled and immunizations are administered following the statutes and rules outlined by the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Increase profitability by effectively handling the merchandising layout, pricing strategies, stock management, and budgeting within the pharmacy and OTC departments.
  • Take charge and offer direction to pharmacy team members, encouraging top-notch customer care and resolving issues according to company standards.
  • Manage community outreach efforts, such as Wellness Days, and inspire team members to take part.
  • Uphold conformity with legal, organizational, and statutory protocols via periodic evaluations, risk management, and safety precautions.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the pharmacy to uphold alignment with HIPAA guidelines, standard operating procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Oversee the circulation of inventory and handle any matters pertaining to the purchasing of merchandise and control of supplies.
  • Showcase adept financial management skills through budget supervision, financial reporting, and strategic goal alignment.
  • Foster an environment that prioritizes patient safety and high-quality healthcare through the implementation of explicit guidelines and a system of answerability.
  • Carry out and supervise compliance efforts, which involve monitoring billing processes and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Create a company culture that honors diversity, fosters cooperation among colleagues, and invests in the advancement of staff members.
  • Advocate for the core beliefs of Walmart, including integrity, prioritizing customer needs, and striving for continuous progress.

Qualifications and Experience of Managing Pharmacist:

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Bachelor's program or PharmD degree, or meeting the criteria for FPGEC certification acknowledged by the NABP.
  • It is necessary to possess an active pharmacy license prior to commencing work.
  • Successful fulfillment of an ACPE-approved immunization training course, for example, one provided by the APhA, pharmacy school curriculum, or a State Pharmacy Association.
  • Experience in the pharmacy sector in the United States is preferred.
