Position Overview

Looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager. This individual will be a vital member of the 200+ person team and would have a hand in managing all aspects of the daily operations

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Maintenance Manager and Operations Team to plan maintenance repairs necessary for safe, reliable equipment to meet and exceed customer’s needs.
• Assist in managing up to 35 maintenance staff members required to maintain a variety of steel mill servicing equipment.
• Must be able to schedule and plan maintenance in a 24/7 operation.
• Schedule, plan, and ensure compliance with Corporate’s mandated Preventive Maintenance program.
• Must be able to provide a cost-effective maintenance plan to maintain equipment.
• Willing to adhere to corporate maintenance policies and procedures and provide maintenance staff with the tools and education to achieve this goal.
• Assist Maintenance Manager in coordinating and managing Capital Improvement Projects.
• Work within and understand a weekly, monthly and yearly budget.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given for 7+ years of experience within the scrap/metal industry, or with off highway/earthmoving equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic background.
• Read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Preference will be given to BA/BS degree as well as a combination of experience/education.
• The candidate must also have the ability to function both effectively and independently as a member of a cross-functional team demonstrating teamwork and communication skills with a commitment to cooperation and collaboration among business functions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Excel and Word as well as ERP software.
