Role and Responsibilities

As a Fitness Center Janitor at Planet Fitness, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our club remains spotless, safe, and inviting for every member and guest. Maintaining cleanliness is essential to our brand promise and the comfort of our community. You’ll help create a welcoming atmosphere by keeping all areas of the facility clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa area.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber on a scheduled basis.
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and maintain cleanliness in all waste areas.
Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products as needed, and communicate supply needs to management.
Dust and clean high surfaces such as ceiling fans, televisions, and light fixtures.
Report any maintenance issues, such as broken equipment, fixtures, or amenities, to the Club Manager.
Operate laundry equipment to wash and dry towels and cleaning materials as required.
Inspect and maintain cleaning tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition.
Perform regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.

Additional Responsibilities

Greet members and guests courteously as they enter and exit the club.
Assist with phone inquiries and provide friendly, professional support to callers.
Support front desk operations by accurately completing retail transactions and promoting club offerings.
Address member questions or concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Basic computer literacy.
Willingness to obtain CPR/AED certification (training provided by Planet Fitness).
Dependable, professional, and able to maintain a positive attitude in all interactions.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand and move continuously throughout the shift.
Frequent bending, lifting, twisting, and reaching in various positions to complete cleaning tasks.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. as needed.
Regular exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals.
Frequent communication with members and team members in person and over the phone.
