Clinical Social Service Worker (FHC25-49) North Mobile/Citronelle

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Social Service Worker to join our healthcare team in North Mobile/Citronelle. An employee in this class performs professional social work when social problems develop as a result of relocation of families due to community development projects or for occupants of low rent housing projects. It also involves interviewing and counseling public health patients to identify and alleviate social, economic or emotional problems which affect health care. Work is performed under the general supervision of a superior.

Duties

Provides advice, guidance or assistance to Housing Board families with problems which occur due to relocation in urban renewal projects
Counsels with families occupying low rent housing; identifies social, economic and health problems and develops plans for overcoming such problems; interviews public health patients and their families to assess socioeconomic, emotional and psychological problems
Determines need and eligibility for specific services; provides counseling to individuals, families and groups; makes home assessment visits as requested by health care staff members
Coordinates with appropriate public and private agencies to provide welfare, health, rehabilitation, legal aid, counseling and institutional or correctional services; develops and disseminates information to project residents advising them of services available
Prepares detailed case reports; good knowledge of agency compliance policies and protocols covering confidentiality, privacy and security efforts to include HIPAA requirements; performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Attainment of a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, psychology or a closely related field; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Pay: $22.01 - $27.48 per hour
