About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Development (US) to spearhead its fundraising efforts, particularly in support of a major campaign. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a US-based team, managing a portfolio of principal gift prospects, and overseeing regional fundraisers. This role demands a strategic thinker with a passion for higher education and a proven track record in transformational gift fundraising, including the solicitation of seven-and eight-figure gifts. The Head of Development will be expected to operate independently, cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate donors, and will play a key role in the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives, events, and donor communications.

Applicants for the Head of Development (US) position at the company should have at least five years' of experience in a similar role, preferably within the higher education sector. The role requires a high level of creativity, resourcefulness, and decision-making to secure philanthropic support that can make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals in a highly tailored manner and will be adept at working with senior university leadership and volunteers in donor engagement. This is a remote position based in the Eastern United States, and the postholder will be expected to ensure effective collaboration across development teams in both the US and UK.
