Job Summary of Deputy General Manager
As a Deputy General Manager at a SONIC Drive-In establishment, you play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding your team towards providing an exceptionally tasty dining experience for customers across America. Your duties involve training and assisting employees at the drive-in restaurant, guaranteeing that meals are served in a sanitary, secure, and effective manner, and that our patrons enjoy top-notch service.
Responsibilities of Deputy General Manager
- Supervises, educates, oversees, and mentors team members, carhops, and skating carhops
- Coordinates and delegates tasks to drive-in restaurant staff as required to uphold operational quality in all facets of food service provision
- Ensures that employees follow and oversee adherence to the drive-in employee handbook, policies, and procedures
- Carries out the tasks required to both initiate and conclude operations at a dining establishment
- Creates and adjusts employee work schedules, overseeing staffing levels in the restaurant
- Manages and upkeeps stock levels in restaurants by checking and regulating inventory
- Handles and upkeeps all employment and payroll documentation for staff working at drive-in restaurants
- Strengthens the mindset of customer service and guarantees that every staff member prioritizes catering to the customer consistently.
- Guest requests are promptly and politely addressed.
- Informs supervisor of guest complaints and aids in addressing and resolving them effectively
- Conduct interviews and recruit new members for restaurant staff and management positions to ensure optimal staffing levels are maintained
- Generate all essential operational documents. Formulate suitable strategies to address negative financial or sales patterns
- Create and execute a strategic plan for advertising and promoting a product or service
Requirements of Deputy General Manager
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields are preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), experience running shifts without supervision
- Required to work a minimum 5 day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4 day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations
- Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic accounting and computer skills
- Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems
- Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
